Every year Team Expansion takes the time to prayerfully set goals. These goals give us focus and unity as our organization joins together to pursue their completion. Often, these goals give us cause for celebration, as God completely blows away our expectations. 2018 was one of those years. We set goals that we thought were ambitious, with numbers bigger than we’ve ever dared. And God exceeded each of them. Praise the Lord!

We’re incredibly thankful that God has allowed us to be involved in changing eternity for thousands of people. We hope you realize that you are an essential part of our team, we couldn’t do it without you. Thank you for your prayers, donations, volunteer hours, encouragement, and involvement. Please join us in praying for 2019 to be even more incredible.

What Else Happened in 2018?

In many ways, 2018 was our best year ever. God allowed tremendous progress to be made in several key areas. Here are some highlights:

30 Cities Project

When we were approached by a large church in California to dream about spreading the Gospel by reaching the 30 largest cities in the world, we immediately set to work. We ended up partnering with them to work in 24 of the 30 cities on their list! We staged disciple-making movement (DMM) trainings and coaching in places like Brasilia, Rio, Sao Paulo, Mexico City, Lagos, Buenos Aires, and a many other locations. These trainees are now multiplying and sharing Christ in these cities, advancing the cause of Christ for God’s glory.

Sending Bases

In a way, we’ve been informally involved in developing Sending Bases for some time, having worked with a handful of fields to send workers to places over the years. But only recently have we begun formally realizing how important it is to multiply ourselves, then equip and empower our new international partners so they can step up to the plate to become fellow-helpers in the Great Commission. Here’s an update of the current status of the sending bases we’re working with.

 East Africa & CHE

Community Health Evangelism, or CHE, is about empowering communities to holistically address their needs. We’re reminded of Jesus teaching and healing the sick, meeting the physical and spiritual needs. Using CHE principles, we’re beginning to gain access to a troubled land in East Africa for the first time and sharing the Gospel while addressing their need for clean water.

Training, Kairos, and Zume

2018 was an eventful year for the Team Expansion training team, our partnership with Kairos, and our partnership with Zúme. Disciple-making Trainings were completed in 11 countries. Karios had 57 courses in the US, an increase of 36% over last year and 957 graduates, which is a 23% increase! Zúme is now available in seven languages and is being used in over 60 countries.

Media 2 Movement

Media2Movement uses social media to find those who are searching for meaning, purpose, peace, “the man in white,” (Jesus). In many mission fields, there are thousands who are searching for something, dreaming about someone, without knowing who that someone is. Using videos, ads, targeted posts, and more of today’s technology, missionaries are finding these people and sharing the Gospel with them. Some of our fields have seen tremendous results from Media 2 Movement strategies for years, but it’s a strategy that’s just beginning to gain momentum. Four of our fields launched their first M2M campaign in 2018. It will be exciting to see how God will continue to use this unique strategy.

We’re also thrilled that God exceeded our goal of having 300 active full-time workers, ending the year with 320. There are hundreds more highlights for the year. Stories of new friendships, of languages learned, and of lives eternally changed. But in the end, each of these things tells the same story, we’re blessed to serve an awesome God.
