Still in Control
Genesis 1
Let’s go back to the VERY beginning. God already existed. He already was. And EVERYTHING was under His control.
There was nothing. No shape. No form. Just darkness. But God was over it all. He was in control.
He began to speak and, out of the nothingness, He brought order. He had the plan. He had the method. He was in control. In six days, He created the perfect world. It was good. He said so Himself.
Then sin entered the world, and the perfectness was broken, sometimes flawed to the extent that we humans have felt, at times, that the world was spinning out of control. This COVID-19 pandemic is one of those times. It is, in fact, the worst of those times in recent years. People are dying and dying and dying. The disease is spreading and spreading and spreading. Our lives are affected by governmental regulations, families and friends and co-workers are isolated from one another, our minds are filled with reports from the CDC and the WHO, and a frequently asked question is, “Did you wash your hands?”
Where is God, the One Who from the beginning controlled EVERYTHING?
He is right beside us. He is hovering around us. He is the One Who has never changed and will not in the future change….the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is the One Who never leaves us or forsakes us. He is above all, under all, and over all. When the earth shakes, when the seas roar, when the winds blow, God is there.
Make a commitment to trust Him today. Ask Him for His help. He is still in control.
Father, we surrender our trust to You, the Creator and the Ruler of the universe. Where our faith is lacking, please increase it. Help us when we doubt that You have all things, even this pandemic, under Your authority and control. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
