Peace in the Grip of Chaos
We live in a world where our enemy, the devil, is roaring like a lion to produce chaos which he hopes will steal our peace and joy. Every day we read the headlines of more deaths from wars, diseases, and famine. Anxiety is heightened. Fear grips hearts and minds.
What can you do to bring a sense order back into your life? You can share your thoughts with God, and He will shield you from the chaos with a peace you won’t understand.
Find a quiet place and use this prayer cycle to spend an hour, five minutes per section, in prayer. Your chaotic world will be turned upside down as you experience God’s peace through prayer.
PRAISE
Isaiah 26:3-4
You will keep in perfect peace
those whose minds are steadfast,
because they trust in you.
Trust in the Lord forever,
for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.
WAIT
Colossians 3:12
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
CONFESSION
Ephesians 5:6-7
Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them.
READ THE WORD
Matthew 6:25-27
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

my righteous God.
Give me relief from my distress;
have mercy on me and hear my prayer.
PRAY THE WORD
Isaiah 43:2

I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.

you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
THANKSGIVING
Deuteronomy 31:8

SINGING
Psalm 100
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;

Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.
