Our marketplace ministry leaders are seeing great conversations and growth in difficult-to-reach parts of the world. Read this story from one of our workers in a secure field and celebrate what God is doing through His people!

I met with a woman this week who wanted some strategies for living on mission in the marketplace. She strongly believed that she’d been given influence and a strategic role to serve her co-workers and make an impact for the Gospel, but the only advice she’d been given was to change to a full-time ministry role.

She has been living with guilt, feeling like others expected her to be in ministry. But in her heart, she believed God was leading her to serve His Kingdom through her secular position.

We talked about tools and resources to help her thrive in the role where God had put her.

As our conversation continued, she told me she needed me to know something important. She was not born into a Christian family, as is permissible here in this country. She left her Muslim religion to follow Jesus seven years ago.

She had been in a season where she was truly looking for the truth, and Jesus appeared to her in a dream and told her that He was the Truth. She believed Him completely, found a Bible, and surrendered her life to Him.

When she tried to share her new faith with her family, it did not go well. She was disowned and disinherited. Her decision to follow Jesus cost her family, her possessions, her heritage, and her community. But it secured her future.

“I lost everything,” she confessed, “But I have Jesus.”

Now, at great personal risk, she follows Jesus. She lost everything as a Muslim daughter but gained eternal life as the daughter of the King.

It’s these kinds of conversations that convict and encourage me. The Gospel is worth every cost, and it is my privilege to share it here!
