By a new Team Expansion missionary

I attended MTI’s Compass program in 2014 while on my way to an internship with another missions agency. While there, I met a couple serving with Team Expansion. I received their newsletters over the next couple years and followed their ministry to an unreached people group in the states.

After returning from my internship, I had a chance to visit them over the summer. During our visit, I began to ask many questions about Team Expansion since I knew that I wanted to pursue long term missions with unreached peoples.

I was very drawn to the focus on disciple making and church planting movements. Additionally, I knew Team Expansion would be a good fit for me because of their structure of accountability, solid member care, and mostly their heavy emphasis on prayer.

Prayer became a lifestyle for me during my previous internship and I anticipate keeping it that way. You cannot overemphasize our dependency on God and need for communication with Him.

I treasure His presence and the many ways I have seen Him answer prayer. I look forward to seeing God continue to answer prayer and bring gospel breakthrough among the people group with whom I will be working.
