“These rules may seem wise because they require strong devotion, pious self-denial, and severe bodily discipline. But they provide no help in conquering a person’s evil desires.” (Colossians 2:23)
Islam has a big emphasis on modest dress and sexual purity, which is good and is also taught in the Bible, yet there is a lot of hidden sexual sin and abuse in the Muslim world, as in Christian communities wherever leaders are allowed to exercise power without accountability. All too often, it is the victim rather than the perpetrator who gets the blame. A prayer that Muslims pray is that God Himself will clothe us, which is like the New Testament commands to clothe ourselves with compassion, with humility, and with Christ. Pray for protection for vulnerable women and children. Pray that Muslims may see that rules do not change the heart but only God’s Holy Spirit given to those who turn to Christ.

A and T in North Africa ask for your prayers that the whole family of Yilhem will come to follow Jesus and start a new group in that city. Pray for S and M’s family and the plans they are making to start a new group. Ask for I’s family to know and follow Jesus. Pray for W’s conversion and for the new group that L is developing in his business. Pray for Ahmed and the people he has been sharing Jesus with in the school where he works as principal. Pray for his five disciples. Pray for the house churches led by A and B.
