In 2010 Cuba officially shifted from being an atheist nation to a secular one, and overt religious persecution diminished. However, in order to be approved by the government, churches must be members of the Cuban Council of Churches. Those that do not register are unable to print Bibles, repair/build structures. They also face harsh intimidation: loss of work, inability to apply for top jobs, denied access to universities, utilities shut off, and even imprisonment. All churches are under surveillance without knowing the informants. Intimidation and lack of Bibles are continual obstacles to the spread of the Gospel. However, state hostility has deepened the believers’ faith, dependence on prayer, and unity. Persecution has challenged and propelled believers to share the Gospel in innovative and bold ways. Pray for growing numbers of house churches to affect the grip of communism. Pray for more Bibles and other Christian resources to be made available to this thirsting nation. https://prayercast.com/cuba.html

Taiwan remains a stronghold of Buddhism and Taiwanese folk religion. Over 90% of the people see themselves somewhere in the spectrum of Buddhism, Confucianism, Daoism, and Taiwanese folk religion. Only prayer and God’s power can destroy this stronghold and make a way for Jesus to reign in the hearts of people of Taiwan. Pray earnestly for Jesus to reign.
