“For God is the King of all the earth; sing to Him a psalm of praise. God reigns over the nations; God is seated on His holy throne. The nobles of the nations assemble as the people of the God of Abraham, for the kings of the earth belong to God; He is greatly exalted.” (Psalm 47:7-9)
Relations with India and Bangladesh might suffer. Historically, Sheikh Hasina and the Awami League have supported close ties with India, which they viewed as Bangladesh’s benefactor during its struggle for independence. But other groups, including the BNP and the Islamists, have long described the Awami League’s close association with India as subservience.
Father, we praise You that You are King of all the earth, reigning from Your throne in heaven. We pray for the government leaders of Bangladesh. King of the Earth, give them divine wisdom to lead, serve and revere You in their words and actions. We humbly ask You to grant them grace to know how to unify the country of Bangladesh.
