“When they had appointed a day for him, they came to him at his lodging in greater numbers. From morning until evening, he expounded to them, testifying to the kingdom of God and trying to convince them about Jesus both from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets.” (Acts 28:23)
Seven of the world’s ten largest refugee camps are in East Africa – holding more than one million people. Tribal war and Islamist violence force these people to flee their homes and villages. The oppression they face is severe. They find themselves homeless, helpless, unwanted, lost, traumatized, anxious, and fearful. No one wants to remain in the camps. Everyone talks and dreams about returning home or migrating abroad. What if they learned that Jesus Christ is their home? They are wanted and found by Jesus. He is their eternal Hope and Home.
“Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him.” (Psalm 62:5)
Pray for the desperate and displaced to find refuge and hope in Jesus. Pray for those ministering in massive refugee camps to not grow weary in doing good. Pray for peace, justice, and healing for the masses scarred by violence and suffering.
