Please join in 30 Days of Thanksgiving – a time to pause and reflect on God’s power, provision, protection, and presence this year.
Father we are thankful for Your Abiding Presence. While a couple was traveling from Taiwan to another country in southeast Asia, God made His Presence known to them. Airport security detected an empty casing of muzzle-loading rifle bullet in his backpack (a token to remember a day with family at a shooting competition three years ago). The husband was arrested and locked up for two days. This couple anticipated having to appear before a magistrate again and receive a decision on the case, but God worked everything out so he did not have to appear before the magistrate. There are no flags on his passport, and he may return to this country. During the time he was held, his wife was trying to communicate with people globally. Eventually very good friends joined her. God’s presence was confirmed through their help and as people prayed. Neither husband nor wife knew what was happening to the other, but God gave both peace. They may have felt uninformed, out of control, ill-prepared, tired, confused, and concerned, but never alone! Father, You were relentlessly making Your Presence known to them through Your Spirit and Your Word. Father, we are grateful for the experience of Your peace and hope that You bring in days of trial and separation. We praise You, God, for the blessing of Your Presence!
