JOB TITLE:  Member Care Associate

STAFF SUPERVISOR:  VP of Prayer, Office, and Personnel

PURPOSE/GOAL OF JOB

The Member Care Associate will provide professional pastoral support for Team Expansion missionaries around the world. The Member Care Associate will work together with the Member Care Coordinator, the TCK Coordinator, team leaders, field coordinators, Leadership Team, and qualified member care professionals, counselors, and pastors to ensure that Team Expansion workers are cared for in all aspects of their work and lives.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Undergird all thoughts and actions with prayer.
• Meet with all those necessary to resolve any situation, remembering that confidentiality is of utmost importance.
• Raise and maintain personal support base.
• Submit a monthly accountability form (LIFT) to the VP of Prayer, Office, and Personnel.
• Help with training:
• New Missionaries – Work with VP of Prayer, Office, and Personnel to conduct pre-departure interviews, as needed.
• Missionary children – Work with TCK Coordinator to ensure the parents have the tools to care for their children in a foreign environment.
• Team Leaders – Work with Team Leaders to provide “first responder” care for individual teams.
• Field Coordinators – Work with Field Coordinators to do team building on field visits and to identify if professional intervention is needed in any cases.
• Churches – Work with churches on how to give better emotional support/help to their missionaries.
• Overseas – Travel as necessary for any need in training on the field.
• Facilitate church partnerships for development of member care.
• Cooperate in attrition and retention studies and apply findings.
• Help with assessment
• Become familiar with PREP assessment
• Serve on application committee for applications
• Help Member Care Coordinator with determining additional resources to help families thrive.
• Conduct debriefings at end of service and during home service, as needed.
• Participate in crisis intervention and travel overseas when necessary.
• Attend appropriate conventions and other strategic meetings (i.e., Connect Gathering and Team Leaders’ Summit) and work to provide member care as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• The Member Care Associate will be a Bible believer with a mature worldview, a commitment to the Great Commission, and devoted to prayer.
• The Member Care Associate should have a deep desire to help missionaries be successful in planting indigenous churches and multiplying disciples who make more disciples.
• The Member Care Associate should possess the ability to teach and relate to cross-cultural workers.
• The Member Care Associate should display a willingness to continue to grow and learn by taking additional training.
• The Member Care Associate will have a burning compassion for and deep commitment to unreached people groups.
• The Member Care Associate will possess administration skills (great with details).
