From a Missionary in North Africa
“I Want to Go to a Church and Learn to Pray”
These were the words of a young man I met with in April. I was introduced to him through a young friend who I met in our neighborhood. The young man was studying English and wanted to practice with a native speaker.
I, also, was looking to practice Arabic, so I got his number, and we coordinated a time to meet for coffee.
I did not expect what happened.
I showed up to the meeting and was surprised to find that he had invited some of his close friends. Five other guys joined us – all of them late-high-school age. They were surprisingly open with me. We were able to talk about their perspective of North Africa and their beliefs. This allowed me to share my faith with them. They were very interested!
For about an hour I shared my testimony, the full Gospel, and explained things like God’s covenants and the theme of sacrifice through a sacrificial lamb. I explained how Scripture points to Jesus as the ultimate and final sacrificial lamb, and then was also able to share how I have seen God speak to me and answer prayers.
They were on the edge of their seats the whole time!
They asked great questions and even mentioned how our stories from the Bible “make a lot more sense” than those from the Qu’ran.
Afterward, one wrote to me saying that he couldn’t stop thinking about what I had said. He wrote, “I am very interested in this. I want to go to a church and learn to pray.” I shared some deep and powerful worship songs with him because he loves music. He wrote, “This is beautiful! I cried and listened to this a couple times. Please send me more!”
This 19-year-old young man heard the gospel for the first time. He knows Islam is not true. This interaction and others like it are only possible because of you. Thank you for partnering with us so that we can reach people like this young man and his friends who have been waiting for good and hopeful news.
16 College Students Hear the Gospel
Another day while on the campus of a local university, I met with 6 guys whom I have befriended. I had shared with them that I was a Christian in our first meeting. This time, they had some questions because they had never met a Christian.
As I began to share the good news and my testimony, friends of theirs started gathering. Within just a couple minutes there were 16 college students listening intently as I shared about the forgiveness, grace, and hope that is in Jesus. They asked some great questions, and I was able to share an evangelism tool, the RAMP, with them that talks about how we can have full, logical confidence that Jesus is who He claimed to be attested to by the Resurrection, the Apostle’s testimonies onto death, the Miracles Jesus performed – and how these were written and corroborated while eyewitnesses were alive, and the hundreds of Prophecies about the Messiah.
All of these students were intently listening to every word I said, some of them with smiles on their faces. Please pray that the seeds that were planted that day can bear fruit, and all of those present that day would decide to follow Jesus.

How exciting to see God working through you this way. Praise Him too for this hunger in these young men.
