We serve in a SE Asians country where there are more than 200 people groups, the majority of whom are unreached followers of Hinduism or Buddhism. For 7 years, we ran a Business As Mission (BAM) goat farm that focused on training national pastors and evangelists how to teach “animal husbandry evangelism.”
Due to increasing restrictions on foreign farmers, we have transitioned out of farming and into a different BAM project that provides a stable visa. We are excited to have the opportunity to stay in this country and reach our unbelieving coworkers under the leadership of Team Expansion.
The BAM business where R works as Director of Operations is an ethical cut-and-sew manufacturer that was founded 10+ years ago when volunteers in women’s shelters realized there was no transition from shelter life back into the world. This company is that transition — offering employment, life skills training, and loving community to the most marginalized members of the local society. The Gospel is shared openly at this business and R has already been invited to form a voluntary lunchtime Bible study.
We’re grateful that you are here considering partnering with us in reaching marginalized people.
